Community Oncologists’ Role in Enhancing Cancer Clinical Trial Participation
This course is designed to help you better support patients diagnosed with cancer as they consider treatment options, including potential participation in clinical trials and, when appropriate, referral to an academic cancer center.
You are uniquely positioned to help patients understand their options, navigate conversations about clinical trials, and connect with additional expertise or trial opportunities when needed.
Cancer clinicians play an important role in helping patients engage in treatment decision-making, including discussions about clinical trials as a potential treatment option.
Module 1: Assessment and clinical referral planning
In this module, you will assess treatment planning for patients newly diagnosed with cancer, including how clinicians consider clinical trials and referral to an academic cancer center as part of care planning.
Module 2: Assessment and treatment planning within your clinic
In this module, you will consider how clinical trials may fit into treatment planning for patients diagnosed with cancer and evaluate how clinicians introduce trial options during these discussions.
